چکیده

The ceramic separator has been interested in low-cost alternative proton exchange membranes a microbial fuel cell (MFC). In this study, the silica-modified integrated with yeast-based MFC for electricity generation and phenol treatment from winery wastewater. 30% (w/w) silica powder was mixed 70% natural clay. modified plates (0.2, 0.5, 1.0 cm of thickness) were prepared at 680°C used operation. As an anolyte, synthetic wastewater (2,000 mg COD/L 100 mg/L phenol) 5% (v/v) ethanol used. ethanol-tolerant yeast Pichia sp. ET-KK as anodic catalyst. results showed maximal power density 0.212 W/m2 removal 95.05% reached 0.2-thick plate MFC. This study demonstrated that high potential enhancing

Electricity generation from swine wastewater using microbial fuel cells.

Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) represent a new method for treating animal wastewaters and simultaneously producing electricity. Preliminary tests using a two-chambered MFC with an aqueous cathode indicated that electricity could be generated from swine wastewater containing 8320 +/- 190 mg/L of soluble chemical oxygen demand (SCOD) (maximum power density of 45 mW/m2). More extensive tests with a s...

Treatment of Oil Wastewater and Electricity Generation by Integrating Constructed Wetland with Microbial Fuel Cell

Conventional oil sewage treatment methods can achieve satisfactory removal efficiency, but energy consumption problems during the process of oil sewage treatment are worth attention. The integration of a constructed wetland reactor and a microbial fuel cell reactor (CW-MFC) to treat oil-contaminated wastewater, compared with a microbial fuel cell reactor (MFC) alone and a constructed wetland re...

Treatment of Domestic Wastewater with Simultaneous Electricity Generation in Microbial Fuel Cell under Continuous Operation

In order to apply microbial fuel cell (MFC) process more practically in wastewater treatment, both power generation and removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) were examined in an air-cathode MFC fed with domestic wastewater under continuous operation. At a hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 2.0 h, the air-cathode MFC was able to generate electricity from domestic wastewater with a maximum power...
